Korean BBQ on Garden Grove Boulevard

Mo Ran Gak serves Korean barbecue, grilled at tables with built-in grills, from a standalone building at 9651 Garden Grove Boulevard. It is not all-you-can-eat: meat is ordered by the plate or as a combination.

The Barbecue

The house specialty is galbi, marinated beef short rib. The Mo Ran Gak combinations, lettered A to D with the largest for four people, group Black Angus brisket, pork belly, marinated boneless short rib, chicken and shrimp with soybean paste stew, a steamed egg and soju or beer. Servers help with the grilling.

Beyond the Grill

Naengmyeon, cold buckwheat noodles, are the dish reviewers mention after the galbi, and the seafood pancake is enormous. The menu also has stews in stone pots, bibimbap in a hot stone bowl and spicy braised short ribs. Banchan are made in house and change daily, apart from basics such as kimchi.

Before You Go

Mo Ran Gak is open from 11 AM to 9:30 PM, Tuesday through Sunday, and closed on Mondays.
